Expression in D-Insight Fleet
Only users with Expressions role have access to this section[Role]- In this section, you can create formulas to define new measures for your workspace or to be used in the custom reports. Formulas are organized into categories(were you can store your own created expressions,Add new category>>then add a an expression that will belong to that group ), which you can create, rename, or delete (except predefined ones).
You can add new expression under predefined or you can create your own 'Category' where you will add your created expression. - We will now explorer through the means of an example how to create expression that can be used in in a custom report.
you will start this process by selecting ''Add new category''
When naming a formula, the system automatically adjusts it by removing special characters and replacing spaces with underscores. Use this name to reference the formula in other formulas. You can reference formulas across categories, but avoid creating circular references.
Selected value type is used when formatting expression value in workspace visuals.
Enter the mathematical formula to be used when calculating expression value in the formula field. It is allowed to use existing measures or other expressions here, as well as some functions.
Enter short comment to describe what the expression represents.
It is possible to edit multiple expressions at the same time. Expression editors are kept open even when switching between expression categories. However, all unsaved changes are lost as soon as user navigates away from the Expressions section.
